  • Yes, all nominated groups receive a certificate of recognition, and winners and runners up receive monetary prizes. There are also Special Awards for stand out groups.

  • The process for nomination will vary from council to council. Popular methods include:

    • Some councils have their own ‘mini’ Pride of Place Competitions, which act as preliminary heats to the all-island competition.

    • Others ‘self-select’ entrants based on their knowledge of communities with whom they are involved.

    • Others seek applications through EOI forms advertised in the press and local media etc.

  • Each Council are allocated 4 tickets, plus 2 tickets for each group they nominated. Therefore, for one nomination there are 6 tickets, but for 5 there would be 14.

  • Categories are updated yearly and can be downloaded from the Information Brochure in the downloads section below.

  • Yes, two people from each group are invited to attend the ceremony.

  • We would love to see groups post about their nomination on social media - recognising their hard work and success. As such, each group will receive a social media graphic to celebrate this achievement if they wish.

  • Yes. Many groups who didn’t receive a prize before are often re-entered the following year.

    • An image to be reproduced at a minimum 1748px x 1240px ​

    • The file size should be around 1MB, anything in KB is too low in resolution for printing​

    • If using a phone camera, be aware that older phones (> 5 years) may not have sufficient resolution and certain methods of transferring the image files may reduce the quality and resolution of the files – making the images unsuitable for printing.

    • The new portal will also reject any photos which are below the resolution for print.
